The Challenge
A six-month-old Meta account that never actually worked.
The chiropractic practice had been running Meta Ads for roughly six months when they came to us. The account was unprofitable — cost per booked consult was averaging $760, which was a non-starter against their consult-to-treatment-plan close rate and average plan value. The owner was ready to kill paid media entirely.
The diagnosis was the usual mix: tracking that was never properly set up (Pixel firing on page view, not on booking), campaign structure built for "reach" instead of "appointments," creative that read like a brochure instead of a hook, no retargeting, no CRM integration. The account wasn't broken by anything exotic. It was broken by every basic thing being 60% done.
What We Did
Fix the tracking first. Then rebuild creative. Then let Meta learn.
Week 1: proper Pixel + CAPI setup, event match score verified above 8.0, Booked Appointment event wired as the primary optimization target. New custom audiences built from the existing patient CRM for lookalikes and retargeting. Landing page tightened to a single appointment-booking flow with a 60-second form instead of a seven-step consult request.
Week 2-4: creative rebuild — patient testimonial videos, pain-point hooks ("If back pain is keeping you up at night..."), new-patient-exam offer, before/after case studies with consent. Dedicated prospecting + retargeting + Advantage+ campaigns, each with clear roles. Weeks 5-8: Meta's algorithm converged on the right audiences, CPA dropped week over week, and by week 12 the account stabilized at a sustainable $53 per booked consult.
The Result
$53 per consult. Scalable budget. Profitable patient economics.
By month 4, cost per booked consult had stabilized at $53 — a 14x reduction from the original $760. At their consult-to-plan conversion rate and average plan value, the account was now wildly profitable. The practice could scale budget confidently, and the owner stopped questioning whether paid media could work for them.
The surprising lesson: the fix wasn't exotic. Every lever we pulled was "table stakes" Meta Ads hygiene — proper tracking, proper structure, proper creative, proper retargeting. The gap between a broken account and a scaling account is often the difference between 60%-done basics and 95%-done basics.
